With a total area of 85,000 hectares, KTE.energy is the heart of South Africa’s hydrogen economy. Clean energy is generated, stored, converted, and marketed globally here.
The project forms the basis for an energy-independent value chain ranging from electricity generation and electrolysis to the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and e-methanol. In addition, KTE.energy will also supply South Africa with sustainably generated, CO₂-neutral electricity nationwide, thus making a significant contribution to the stabilization and decarbonization of the national energy system.

KTE.energy is officially recognized as a Strategic Infrastructure Project (SIP) and is part of the South African government’s National Green Hydrogen Master Plan – a clear demonstration of its national importance.
Our objective is to build a fully carbon-neutral energy and industrial ecosystem that empowers South Africa while supporting the global transition to net zero.
